We’re serious about helping our service pros close the deal, so we did some research to see how customers make hiring decisions. Last month, we surveyed over 25,000 customers. Here’s what we learned that can help any service pro get hired more often:
Customers Care About Quality
The research shows that Thumbtack customers care most about the quality of work.￼
Unsurprisingly, customers consider reviews from past clients twice as important as any other item on your profile. Your years of professional experience and professional licenses matter, but reviews trump everything else.
We encourage you to list all these things on your profile, so make sure it’s complete.
Customers say that by far the most frustrating thing about working with a service professional is when price comes in higher than expected. When giving a price quote, state clearly what services you’ll provide at that price and give a range if you feel the price may change.
